Columbus Botanical Visits England's East Anglia Gardens

Norfolk ~ Essex ~ London
September 5-13, 2015

Located on the mid-east coast of England, Norfolk County is a contrasting countryside of coastline, rivers, forested heathland, nature reserves and geologically varied soils. The light sandy soils in the south west and ericaceous soil characteristic in the Norfolk Brecks support the gardens that we’ll experience. Norfolk’s Breckland landscape region is an unusual natural habitat comprised of gorse-covered sandy heath that lies mostly in the south of Norfolk, which is one of the driest places in England. The typical tree of the more forested Thetford area where we’ll be on Wednesday is the Scots Pine.
